DUI accidents pose a serious risk to road users in Connecticut as well as throughout the country. A Connecticut man died after being hit by an SUV while riding his motorcycle on a local road one night. According to reports, police have identified the victim as a 56-year-old man. Police said a 34-year-old woman was riding the motorcycle that hit the man.

The 34-year-old woman was not injured in the motor vehicle accident. The man was taken to a local hospital where he died from injuries inflicted in the crash.

Motorcycle accidents are infamous for causing much more traumatic injuries than car-to-car accidents usually do. A motorcycle accident victim, like a pedestrian or bicyclist who is injured, does not have the benefit of the steel exterior of an automobile to protect him or her in case of a crash. Police said the woman who drove the motorcycle was charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and following too close.
