Connecticut car crash results in woman’s hospitalization

Tuesday February 18, 2014

Over the past few weeks, parts of the country have been slammed with winter storms. As a result, thousands of people have been working feverishly to keep the roadways clear. Unfortunately, the weather and large vehicles with snow plows have the potential of causing serious injuries to pedestrians. For example, a recent car crash in Connecticut sent a woman to the hospital with serious injuries.

The woman was apparently trying to cross the street when she was struck by a sports utility vehicle with a snowplow attached. Police indicate that there was a crosswalk near the area where the woman was struck, although they were unsure if she was in the crosswalk at the time of the collision. Police reports indicate that the SUV also struck a tree.

The woman was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Her current condition is unknown. Information about charges is unknown. However, officials continue to investigate the accident. Police have requested that anyone with information about the incident to contact them.

As a result of the car crash, the woman will likely face several large medical bills. The bills themselves could create financial strain, which would be compounded if she is forced to miss work as she recovers. If she can prove to a Connecticut civil court that her injuries were a result of the driver’s negligence, she could be awarded financial damages to reimburse her for the expenses created by the accident. In many cases, such an accident allows victims to focus on their recovery instead of financial concerns.
