Two school buses collide in multi-car crash in Connecticut

Friday June 20, 2014

Accidents are a major problem that cause far too many deaths and injuries to America’s drivers. Car accidents can be caused by any number of reasons, but many car crashes are caused by distracted driving, texting and driving or drunk driving.

Recently a multi-car crash in Connecticut involved five automobiles, including two school buses. One of the bus drivers was airlifted to a hospital, but the 22 school children aboard the bus were reportedly not seriously injured. However, all injured were taken to the hospital as a precaution. Luckily, the accident did not cause any fatalities.

One of the witnesses claimed that a pick-up truck was speeding and caused the accident. However, police were continuing their investigation into the accident.

Connecticut has tough laws when it come to negligent drivers involved in car accidents. Speeding, distracted driving and other dangerous acts can be held against a driver involved in a car crash. Furthermore, a driver’s prior record can also be a contributing factor in determining penalties.

When a negligent driver causes an accident, they may face revocation of their driver’s license, license suspension, steep fines and even imprisonment. Moreover, if an accident is fatal, the penalties may be even more severe for the negligent driver.

A driver’s car insurance premium may also be adversely affected in the process. Compensation to the victim or the family of the victim may be due. Thus, the victim of a car crash may want to contact a New Haven car accident attorney to get the legal results that they deserve.
