Connecticut man arrested after crash, fight

Friday December 6, 2013

Around holiday time, people are running around and the stress of this time of year percolates. Connecticut residents are in full swing of holiday shopping, but everyone must be careful driving on the roads. No matter how busy or hurried you are, obeying the speed limit and stop signs are things that will keep you safe not only during the holidays, but every day.

According to police, they recently arrested a Connecticut man who supposedly hit the back of another car, then got into an argument with its driver and occupants at a commuter parking lot one Sunday morning. Police were called to the commuter parking after getting informed of a fight in progress early one morning.

No one was at the commuter lot when the police arrived, but around the same time, a patrol manager reported a car driving erratically on the street, almost crashing into at least two vehicles, including the police car.

Witnesses, including a passenger in the man’s car, told police that the man did not stop after the accident, and the second driver followed the man to the parking lot, where a fight took place. Neither the second vehicle nor the driver could be found, police said. The man was ultimately arrested close to where the incident allegedly began, officials said. He was charged with drunken driving and reckless driving as a result of the episode..

Drunk driving accidents are one of the leading causes of death in Connecticut and across the country. If you were in an accident caused by a drunk driver, you are entitled to receive compensation for injuries or damages resulting from the drunk driving accident. The compensation could include past and future medical expenses, loss of income, and other damages. It’s best to consult with an attorney who is knowledgeable and experienced.
