Connecticut man arrested in car accident that killed 2 children

Illegal acts such as speeding, ignoring traffic signals, passing improperly, failing to yield right of way and driving while distracted are examples of reckless driving. Too often, injuries and deaths in car accidents are caused by reckless driving in Connecticut and around the country.

Police recently responded to an early morning car crash in Connecticut. According to police, a Subaru Legacy was traveling on a local street and stopped at a traffic light at an intersection. While stopped, the Subaru was hit from behind by a GMC Denali. Five people were inside the Subaru, including three children. A 5-year old girl and an 8-year old boy who were inside the Subaru died. A third child, a 12-year-old, was taken to the hospital.

The parents were also injured and taken to the hospital after the automobile accident.According to reports, the parents of the children sat in the front of the Subaru.

The 29-year-old driver of the GMC Denali, ran from the scene, and police received information that he was at a nearby home. The police located him, and he was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. He was then arrested and charged with reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license and felony evading responsibility.

The man was jailed and held on $1 million bond. Police said that the man might face more serious charges after the results of a blood alcohol content test come back. They obtained a warrant to perform the test.

When any reckless act by a driver causes personal injury or death, the injured party has a right to be compensated for their losses, pain and suffering. Knowledgeable attorneys will work to prove the negligence and help recover the compensation deserved for injuries and suffering following an automobile accident.
