Fatal car accident in Connecticut kills 2

For some people, the desire to learn just what a car can really do is irresistible. They want to know exactly how fast a car can go, how fast it can reach that speed and so on. Unfortunately, just because a piece of machinery has the ability to drive over 100 miles per hour does not mean that it is safe to do so. Recently, two men have paid with their lives after a fatal car accident in Connecticut that witnesses claim was due to the driver's recklessness.

Just before midnight in mid-October, a car driven by a 38-year-old man with a male passenger caught the attention of several bystanders. Witnesses claim the car was traveling between 80 and 100 miles per hour. Unfortunately, the driver lost control, causing the car to jump a curb and crash into a tree in a parking lot.

Due to the impact, the car burst into flames. One man was found inside the car, while the second was found nearby on the sidewalk. Both died from the injuries they sustained in the accident. The investigation is likely ongoing.

Once Connecticut authorities complete their investigation into the fatal car accident, the surviving family members of the deceased passenger may decide to file a wrongful death case in civil court. As a result of his death, they are likely coping with funeral expenses and the loss of the man's income in addition to coming to terms with their own grief. If the family can prove to the court that the man's death was caused by the driver's negligence, they could receive monetary compensation to help reduce the financial burdens placed on the family as a result of the accident.
