Connecticut woman loses life in fatal car accident

It is amazing to think how easily a life can be lost or forever altered. In the blink of an eye, someone's world could be ruined. All it takes it a brief moment of distraction or lack of familiarity with a specific area while driving. The family and community of a Connecticut woman is today attempting to cope with her death after a horrific, fatal car accident.

The accident occurred in the early morning hours of an August day. The 28-year-old female was a passenger in a car driven by a 31-year-old male. According to police reports, the driver lost control of his vehicle before crashing into a tree. The car burst into flames upon impact.

The driver was able to exit the car without help and is expected to recover from his injuries. Two officers were able to pull the woman from the car. She was transported to a hospital, but she later died from her injuries. At this point, authorities are still trying to determine if criminal charges are warranted.

All families of people who die unexpectedly have to deal with the grief of their loved one's death as well as the financial ramifications of the death. For example, this family will have to cope with funeral expenses and possibly the loss of the woman's income. In order to receive some relief for these concerns, the family has the option of filing a civil case in a Connecticut court, which requires a lower burden of proof than a criminal court. If the court determines that the woman's death was caused by the driver's negligence, her family members could receive compensation to help alleviate the financial strain the fatal car accident has created.
