Brain injury may stem from singer Miguel’s stage leap

Thursday June 6, 2013

Many Musicians are well known for their accomplishments and some for their infamous acts, others for both. Recently, a relatively new artist to the music industry will likely regret a stage performance for the rest of his life. Many New Haven residents may be familiar with the singer Miguel and his embarrassing performance at the Billboard Music Awards a few weeks back. His song was going well until the musician attempted to jump over some fans to reach another side of the stage.

The musician wasn’t thinking ahead as he failed to reach the other side of the stage, resulting in a kick to the head for one unlucky fan. While many fans and viewers thought the incident was funny, there is one fan who is not laughing. The victim who was accidentally kicked by Miguel may be suffering from a brain injury from the singer’s negligent act.

The victim told the press that, “some of the difficulties she’s experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury.” The fan is now waiting to hear back from a neurologist to determine the extent of her injuries. According to the fan’s lawyer, legal action may be on the horizon. Miguel could face a possible personal injury lawsuit for his reckless stage performance.

Anytime someone suffers an injury from the negligence of another, they may be entitled to compensation. Whether an injury results from a car accident, medical malpractice or from an assault; personal injuries can cause devastating effects that sometimes last a lifetime. When the brain is involved in an injury, the consequences may be more severe. New Haven residents that have suffered from a personal injury may find an attorney to be helpful in their pursuit towards recovery.
