Motorcycle accident believed to be hit and run

Saturday May 25, 2013

Connecticut police are asking the community for help in identifying and locating a driver believed to have caused a hit and run accident that injured a motorcyclist. The motorcycle accident took place just moments after midnight on a recent Friday night. Police were alerted when a call came in reporting a hit and run involving a motorcycle and an enclosed vehicle.

Witnesses say that a dark colored sedan fled the scene of the accident. When emergency responders arrived on the scene, a passenger side mirror was recovered. Police assert that the mirror came from a Honda. The authorities suspect that the vehicle involved in the crash may have passenger side damage.

The man who was struck by the vehicle was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the crash. There is no report on his current condition or the extent of the injuries he suffered. As he recovers, he and his family are undoubtedly waiting for answers as to why the individual who struck him failed to remain on the scene of the crash and render aid.

As Connecticut police work to find this hit and run driver, they may rely heavily on help from those within the community. Once they have found the individual responsible for this motorcycle accident, criminal charges are likely. In addition, the driver could also face a civil suit for personal injury. A successful personal injury lawsuit could help the victim and his family recover damages associated with his incident, including medical bills, lost wages and other losses.
