Fatal car accident kills Connecticut teen

Tuesday May 28, 2013

Driving is considered by many to be an enjoyable activity, not just a way to get from one place to another. Going for drives with friends can be a fun way to pass the time and enjoy some sight-seeing. Driving can also be very dangerous, and unfortunately — as was the case in Connecticut recently — a fatal car accident can occur.

On May 18, a crash occurred between a Subaru Legacy and a Honda Civic, leaving one teen dead and multiple other passengers injured. No specific details dealing with the cause of the accident have been reported. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.

The deceased victim was riding in the Civic, which had three occupants at the time of the accident. The Legacy had two occupants. The two drivers were taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital, and the other surviving passengers were also transported to local hospitals for treatment of serious injuries. Reports state that the driver of the Civic is still in critical condition.

This fatal car accident is still being investigated by police. As all people involved in the accident were injured, the at-fault driver could be facing multiple personal injury claims and one wrongful death claim. All injured parties could incur mounting medical bills as a result of the accident, and the family of the deceased must deal with emotional challenges as well as funeral and other expenses resulting from the incident. Should these individuals seek a case against the at-fault party, they may be entitled to reparations for damages permissible under Connecticut law.
