Just about every New Haven resident is familiar with Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton and Thomas Edison. All of them were great geniuses and made drastic contributions to our world. What all of them had in common was a healthy brain. One can image what would have happen if Einstein had suffered a traumatic brain injury. The theory of relativity may have just been an enigmatic equation yet to be discovered.
Fortunately these geniuses were blessed with a healthy brain, but according to recent studies, 1.7 million people suffer from traumatic brain injuries each year.475,000 of those injured involved children, many of them living with lifelong disabilities. Every young kid that has suffered a brain injury has potential for greatness but may have to defer it due to their disability.
The Brain Injury Association of America has announced that March is brain injury awareness month. The association aims to help spread awareness of brain injuries and help victims who are suffering from TBI. According to the association, 3.1 million Americans live with lifelong brain injuries. Most of these injuries can occur anytime at any place. Car accidents are one of the biggest contributors to causing brain injuries. They are also very expensive to treat. Often victim’s can get compensated for medical expenses depending on the nature of how their injury was caused.
If any New Haven resident has suffered a brain injury as the result of another’s negligence, they may be eligible for compensation. With the help of an attorney a victim may be awarded financial aid to help cover their medical bills.
