Fatal car accident claims two lives in Connecticut

Tuesday January 8, 2013

Many Connecticut residents may be aware of the long-term consequences that accidents may have on victims and their family members. A car accident may not only be the cause of physical and emotional pain and suffering but may also claim someone’s life.

In a recent incident, a car accident resulted in the death of two people and injured two others. According to officials, the accident happened when two cars had a head-on collision, resulting in the death of both the drivers.

According to reports, the 22-year-old driver of one of the cars was driving north in the southbound lane on Wilbur Cross Parkway. As a result, the southbound vehicle of the second victim coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with the first vehicle. The 37-year-old driver of the second vehicle died due to the crash. The two passengers in the second car also sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital.

The accident stalled the traffic for several hours as the road had to be closed. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident. Police have been asking for information from anyone who witnessed the accident.

In this type of case, the family members of the victim struck by the wrong-way driver may choose to seek compensation for the loss of their loved one. A legal professional may help the family in drafting a personal injury claim for recovering appropriate compensation.

Filing a personal injury claim may be a complex procedure for the family members. The degree of physical, emotional and financial damage has to be ascertained before filing a claim. A legal professional’s advice may help in protecting the interests of the victim’s family by including all requisite details in the claim. This may ensure that the family receives maximum compensation for their pain and suffering.
