Car crash injures crossing guard and 2 pedestrians

Friday August 31, 2012

Intersection accidents can be extremely dangerous for pedestrians and bystanders. This week, a city crossing guard and 2 pedestrians were injured when a pickup truck collided with another vehicle. Ironically, the crossing guard in this case, was actually driving one of the motor vehicles. The car accident could result in criminal charges and civil penalties.

According to accident reports, the crossing guard was arriving to his post at the intersection in Bridgeport, Connecticut when it collided with another vehicle also striking a woman with her child who were standing on the corner. The crossing guard driver was scheduled to begin his post as a patrol at the intersection near a school where the academic year started on Monday.

The accident is still under investigation and the drivers could face criminal penalties. Any criminal charges can be used as evidence in a personal injury case. Immediately after an accident, an independent investigation can help identify those responsible. Accident reconstructionists as well as other medical and legal experts can help determine who caused the accident and help you protect your rights.

If you or someone you love is injured in an accident, you may be entitled to collect compensation for your injuries and losses, including compensation for medical expenses, long term care needs, pain and suffering as well as any additional personal losses your family as endured as a result of a collision.

In this case, none of the injuries in the crash were life-threatening, though they could make a significant impact on the life of the victims.
