Ten dangerous and recalled household products

Monday May 28, 2012

Serious injury or fatalities arising from a dangerous product usually result in a product recall. Unfortunately, many consumers may be unaware of the dangers and do not have the opportunity to discard dangerous products or household items that may pose a threat. In the event of a product recall, only 10% of those products purchased are returned. The rest will remain in use.

Consumers in Connecticut and nationwide should be aware that the failure to remove dangerous products could result in serious injury to you or a loved one. Appliances, children’s toys, and other household products may be lying around your house posing a potential hazard. Fires, choking, electrical shock, and poison by ingestion are just some of the risks. Many product manufacturers also failure to warn of these dangers before they are sold and distributed to the public.

The following is a list with 10 dangerous products that you may still have in your home:

  • LG Dehumidifiers
  • Drop side crimes
  • Family Dollar Store Toy Dart Guns
  • Gel Fuel
  • Shades and Blinds
  • Magnetix Building Sets
  • Maclaren Strollers (pre-2000)
  • Maytag Dishwashers’
  • Lasko Box Fans
  • Bumbo Baby Seats

Dangerous products can result in catastrophic accidents, permanent injury and accidental death. If you or someone you love was injured by a dangerous product, you may be entitled to significant compensation. If you suspect that you or someone you love was injured by a dangerous product, an experienced advocate can properly investigate your case. An attorney will be able to identify all responsible parties, including the manufacturers or distributers, and pursue the maximum compensation you deserve.
