Connecticut car crash would end in wrongful death case

Most people do not realize that their lives are often times protected by two lines of yellow painted down the center of a road. If another driver crosses these lines, lives could be lost or serious injury could be sustained. In a similar case that could ultimately result in wrongful death claims, a Connecticut man has been charged with homicide months after an accident that resulted in the death of another driver.

The accident occurred on April 15. Police claim the 26-year-old man was traveling east when he allegedly crossed the center line. As a result, he struck a woman traveling east. She passed away due to her injuries almost a month later.

The man has recently been charged with negligent homicide as a result. He reportedly turned himself in after learning a warrant for his arrest had been issued. He is currently free on bond with a return court date in October.

The family of the deceased woman is likely facing severe financial burdens as a result of her death. She likely received treatment for the month after the accident, resulting in several medical bills. Additionally, her family will have to pay funeral expenses all while coping with the loss of her income. In order to receive compensation for these expenses, they have the option of filing a wrongful death case in a Connecticut civil court. If they can prove the man's negligence caused the accident resulting in her death, they could receive a monetary award to help them handle the financial costs that inevitably accompany these tragedies..
