John J. D'Elia was born in Hartford, Connecticut. Upon graduating from law school, John began practicing with the Law Firm of Walsh, Rosen, Johnson and Kennedy. He joined Kennedy & Johnson when it formed on December 1, 1988, becoming a partner of the firm on January 1, 1992.

While in law school, Mr. D'Elia was a member of the Moot Court Board during 1985-1986. He was awarded Fifth Best Oralist and Writer of Best Brief Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in 1986. He is now a member of the New Haven County and the Connecticut Bar Associations and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. D'Elia often teaches workers' compensation classes for The Connecticut Trial Lawyers' Association People's Law School Program in Middletown, Connecticut. In addition Mr. D'Elia has written an article concerning workers compensation for the Connecticut Trial Tribune entitled "Rehabilitation Services: Are They Necessary?" He has taught seminars on the subject of workers' compensation sponsored by the Connecticut Trial Lawyers' Association.

Mr. D'Elia's practice includes workers' compensation and personal injury law. In workers' compensation claims, he represents claimants in all workers' compensation districts in the State of Connecticut, and he has represented claimants before in Connecticut Compensation Review Board on appeal. He also represents plaintiffs in all forms of injury claims, and represents claimants in Social Security Disability matters.

He is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of Connecticut and The United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
